I agree, at least in theory. Humans certainly have the brain power to figure out right from wrong. In reality, though, a lot of people don't do that. Or they eventually get there but lose alot of years and maybe some of their personal human potential to things like substance abuse or criminality. As for 'group mind control', humans are social animals and almost always will join some kind of pack. And most in that pack will be followers, not leaders, thus most will voluntarily give over their mind to whatever the 'groupthink' is.
