On selling great companies in times of fear

I would never panic sell Intel.

However what has happened here is that a lot of people didn't get out of the stock when it was much much higher because they believed in the "it will always go up" school of investing. These are naive and inexperienced investors. And people who believe that a 100% rate of return isn't good enough for THEM.

Well greedy pigs get roasted.

Investors sucked in by the irresponsible hype on this thread (sorry but that's my opinion of what I found here when I first posted) can always average down their losses, provided they haven't listened to Mr. Fully Invested Brady and have no more money. Those promoting the hype --- well you deal with them. Those who believe in Intel for the long term. Well you get another buying opportunity. But remember that if we go into a bear market next year it will be a very different investment environment. You won't be able to pick any easy safe bets the way it has been with Intel since the Pentium release.
