I don't think there is anything fundamentally wrong with Intel

ON the technical side someone might want to comment on how well Intel has done expanding revenue in non CPU products. I don't think much of their forays into graphics and motherboards.

On the market side they are very heavily concentrated in what is becoming a commodity. It used to be memory chips, now it is CPU's. God forbid that NEC should buy AMD and buy up some cheap Asian FABs in this Asian decline. If you get my drift.

I don't like the strategy that produced an MMX to be made obsolete by a slot one PII, to be made obsolete by a .... This churning of capital is characteristic of monopolies. ITs wasteful. It reminds me of the automobile companies in the fifties puttin all their bucks into designing tail fins.

Intel's job is to advance the state of the art in microprocessors and to do it rapidly. Their weakness is their partnership with MSFT and its terrible software which has put them in the position of overdesigning for the OS crap that is out there. IF I were Andy I would dump Wintel. ITs a drag on Intel's capabilities.
