Obama's new carbon rules are a policy fiasco in the making. Drilling rigs for natural gas in the US remain below 400. Regardless of weather and higher productive shale wells, as declines on new production set in, US supply will be negatively affected. Aggravating this problem by mandating the replacement of coal with natural gas will make the problem worse, driving nat gas prices and electricity prices much higher. Surely this is just a ploy in the hopes of winning more democratic seats this fall? If not, there are going to be a lot of upset consumers and voters in 2016. Obama seems to have forgotten that (working) people actually vote with their wallets.....
