Widgets and third-party keyboard support are huge. Not sure what to make of Swift, but the fact they kept it as a total surprise shows Apple is still the best (big) company on the planet at keeping secrets.
I was busy with other things today and somehow missed the third-party keyboard support. Indeed that is huge, and a very good move by Apple. One of my top 10 negatives about iOS is the inability to choose a third-party keyboard. What is the harm in doing this? No one will be forced to move away from the Apple keyboard they love.. they merely have the option to do something different, if and only if they want. Of course, Apple is blatantly following (or copying, however you'd like to put it) Google with this, as Android has allowed it for years. But that's not a reason to knock Apple... they should be copying more of what consumers like. The move to copy widgets and notifications is similarly wise.
