Given current trends it is reasonable to assume that CO2 consumption will be higher then than now, while carbon production will undoubtedly be lower. Both, due to technological advancements and dare I say it, genetic modification. It would not be shocking, were I going to still be around 50 years from now, to find out that the quantity of CO2 was dropping, leading to claims we are facing an ice-age.
