Could be, but some good news might easily propel stock to new high. I always felt that the period between shipping of Christmas products and announcing of fourth quarter earnings might be a quiet time for news and thus a bit perilous. But the analysts seem to be filing this period with earnings upgrades so that really helps. The upgrade on Thursday was swamped by other factors and may not have been much of a surprise. Additional upgrades may make a difference. Otherwise trading in a range until 4th quarter earnings get close to being released is not the worst possible fate. Base building has its place in this world also.
