Proper home work encompasses a lot of things, many I don't know but here is one place to start:

Go to the quote page from SI profile page for all of the companies that have produced Zip-killers and look at the press releases from the time their Zip-killer was introduced until the time that it was obvious that it did not kill the Zip. You would have to go to Syquest, Imation, Compaq, Sony, Avator(?), and some others that you will read about on those companies. I am sure if you go through these you will see a patern. There are many other good places to get news releases but by going there it concentrates on the product concerned.

That should keep you busy for at least a day.
