Aweful. Jacks right now get warn and create static. That would just be putting more attenuation and static between the ears and the files.

This is a terrible idea. It would also mean the phone or device would have to decide where to do the digital to analogue conversion, on the device or on the headphone.

Theoretically there are differences in quality on DAC conversion devices. Realistically I have some doubts.

I cannot see any good reason for this.

Me thinks its a MacGuffin.
