Ex, Interesting article. The breakdown of both advertiser types and media were especially interesting. After consumer advertising, the largest catagories of products advertised was computer products (22%) and financial advertising (20%), both specialized advertisers who want their ads on a limited number of specifically targeted sites. Why put a computer ad on a site about, say, gardening? Also, 55% of the ad dollars went, as you would expect, to search engines, also a limited number of sites. After all the choice AOL sites are spoken for, how fast does AOL's ad revenue grow? We may actually be seeing the answer to that question already with the fall-off in AOL's ad revenue growth last quarter and Case's recent comments on AOL's concentration on ad revenue.
Best
