Rumor: September for the iPhone 6, October for the iWatch

9to5mac.com

iOS 8 coming in "the Fall" likely pushes those devices into Fall for release, meaning sometime late September to mid-December.

2013 was an iPad Christmas. 2014 could be an iWatch Christmas.

I've spent a lot of time over the last year staring at my wrist, imagining what I'd want to wear on it for easy access to information. Besides a waterproof timepiece, bio-sensors would be fun because I train year round for dragon boat racing. A small display for health data, along with texts, tweets, and other outside messages would be good. Any extended viewing should be done on the bigger display iPhone when I'm away from the iPad, MacBook and iMac. Data from the sensors would sync to the other devices for detailed analysis.

The wrist just isn't a comfortable place to display a large amount of information for viewing. Holding an iPhone in one or both hands makes more sense if my attention is required for an extended period. The wrist is good for just a glance. Speaking to the watch would be easy. Some type of (optional) wirelessly connected earpiece would be best for sound and further bio-sensing, possibly as a third party device.

Apple, of course, has put far more thought into the thing than I have, or any internet prognosticator. What they do eventually release this will be a quality of life improvement for millions of people.
