Of course, as usual, you do not have command of the facts. 18 Democrats, including Robert Byrd, filibustered the bill for nearly 2 months. In the House, the original bill passed with 80% Republican support (ONLY 61% Democrat support). In the Senate, it passed with 82% of the Republican vote, and ONLY 69% of the Democrat vote. And the committee version, was 63% of Democrats and 80% of Republicans.
Those are the facts. And before you jump on the "Southern Democrats", keep in mind it was signed into law by a "Southern Democrat". And a Republican, Everitt Dirkson, as essential in getting the law enacted.
Now, it may be true that blacks THINK the Democrats gave them civil rights, and you're an ignorant shithead, so you THINK it.
The reality is that blacks vote for Democrats because of the free shit the Great Society gave them. Just as LBJ said those "N*s" would -- for 200 years.
