Visited La Jolla Apple Store tonight to test headphones about 8PM (closes 9PM).

It was fairly busy. People at most demo machines.

Personally I'm not impressed, but I'm probably in the minority.

Beats headphones prominently displayed. I tried some B&O H6 ($399) Jeff likes. Well I tried to try some. Couldn't use my own iPod. Music selection available was all pop crap, not very good for comparing. Store was too noisy. Headphone types were unmarked, the first clerk I asked did not know what kind of B&O I was looking at, had to go ask. I would have tried to see what kind and quality of file to which I was trying to listen... but I just gave up out of frustration. Not good.

Was not impressed with laptop line up either. The 15" books are just too small for me. Disappointing. Goes without saying I don't like the new iMacs. I may try to find a quality top end 2011 iMac for a back up. Doubt I'll be buying any more new Macs at this point.

Still I guess I'm in the minority. Think Apple will do well up to Xmas.

Went by Best Buy earlier to look at headphones. Even worse.

Retailers seem to be more and more clueless.
