Jerry Koosman won 21 games in '76, but was robbed of the Cy Young which went to Randy Jones of the Padres. Some think it was because Seaver had won it the year before, and the writers were hesitant to give it to a Met two years in a row.

Same situation in '68. Koosman won 19 for the 9th place Mets (about a 2.08 ERA), but lost Rookie of the Year to Johnny Bench who hit around .270 by 1/2 vote (one writer split his vote). Seaver had won the ROY in '67.
