>Ever heard of packet writing or Direct CD? Although many older CD-ROM do not handle Direct CD disc properly but this will change when today CD-ROM are multiRead compatible and UDF support in Win98. Zip disk is pretty good in terms of reliability but it is still not comparable to a CD. Also I bet there are more CD-ROM which read Direct CD disc than Zip drive. Also will Zip disk forward compatible with DVD? NO but 2nd generation DVD-ROM will read CDR and CD-RW :o) I do agree with you that Zip makes more sense than SparQ for this purpose.<

Ok Andy, now re-read what you wrote. How do explain this to mom and dad? Much easier to say buy a Zip to interchange. No spec jibberish or format soup to contend with. Zip drives read and write Zip disks very easily. (Oh and I did just buy a CD-RW so I'm not against them, its just not as easy to use for non-technical folks)

Same may be true for SparQ if that flourishes as well. (got the SyQuest link in)
