Jeffrey, my vote is to begin production at 50% speed, as long as it does not prevent the tuning for higher speeds from continuing. It would no doubt pull many of us out of our present loss situation by adding a few points to the share price, and return a more cheerful atmosphere to this thread.

A partial answer to your question - Valence has some 300 US patents, about half of which are issued and the rest pending, plus another 100 foreign patents out of which about 80 are still pending.
Their design and process certainly has considerable proprietary content.
