I was never against the war in Afghanistan. I was against the way we went about it.
I think it's clear that both parties underestimated the costs of both wars.

Funny thing is, though, that the "wrong war," namely Iraq, was wrapped up earlier than the "right war," namely Afghanistan.

The true costs of the wars will probably be $2-3 trillion, but not more than that. Anyone who seeks to exaggerate the numbers beyond that has an agenda beyond pacifism.

Besides, the Keynesians who believe in the "broken window fallacy" should at least see the silver lining in that $2-3 trillion figure and count that toward "economic stimulus."
