RMF you an alert person and the subject you bring up deserves a thorough debate. No one is more aware of it that than I. But all average people are capable of much more intellectually than they know. And they need to know they are missing a lot of life by not engaging higher order thinking.

This has nothing to do with me. I am simply trying to explain concepts.

The Republican party fights higher order thinking which is just plain nuts. Most people can learn it, and would benefit greatly form it, but they don't seem to understand its importance to simply living a more fulfilled life.

I am well aware of what you saying, but the problem is that I have never figured out how to get these important concepts across to people without making them defensive or insulting them. I have found that even though people get upset with many ideas, if they are good ideas they hang on to them privately.

I am an old man now with only a few years left to live and am tired of dumbing down ideas to keep from making people feel bad. I want to post my best ideas, raw, not post in code. If people hate me too bad. I am not making this personal. They are just ideas and I am to debate them and welcome it. If people cannot deal with the debate, they would be smart to ask questions and try to learn form the new ideas.

In the 60's when we were involved in instigating an existential social revolution we used to call it "blowing their mind" with concepts. I know the blow back I will have to endure and if people want to get angry with mie or put me on ignore it is their loss. If they disagree with me then they should push back with their ideas. If they can't then they should try and understand.

Calling me a moron or getting made is silly. I am posting ideas and getting angry of ideas is a bad habit.

if you know a better way to do this I am all ears!

It is an age old problem e.g. we had segregation in the south for a 100 years because everyone who was not a racist felt they could not bring it up without ruffling feathers. So nothing got done.. But stopping racism was simply more important than peoples hurt feelings (because they could not hold on to their racist ideas).

The same is true of education. Like you say when you talk about higher order thinking people get intimidated or think you are an elitist. I don't think there is any nice way of saying people need more education. We are a highly undereducated society.

Nixon vetoed universal pre school to prevent higher order thinking and much of the Republican party has run from it forever. But learning higher order thinking which most everyone can do, is essential. It is and should be the primary goal of education. And people need to understand what that even means.

And our institutions don't help by putting stupid artificial hurdles in from of people wanting to go to college.
