>> The same is true of education. Like you say when you talk about higher order thinking people get intimidated or think you are an elitist. I don't think there is any nice way of saying people need more education. We are a highly undereducated society.

The problem, Koan, is you have no credibility on this topic. Because you lack any fundamental understanding of the subject yourself.

You pitch the same old, tired mantra out on the table: More Money. Those who understand the problem know that the money isn't the problem. The problem is that it takes two years and a quarter million dollars to fire a lousy teacher. The problem is that the federal government is too involved, throwing away perfectly good money that could be used productivity.

The k-12 budget for the Department of Education approaches 50 Billion annually and test scores are no better today than they were the first year the Dept of Education existed.

We have transitioned from a situation where students would work a part-time job to get through college, the way I did in 1972 to where kids in debt to a federal bureaucracy for their entire lives just trying to get a university education. All because of government's involvement in the university education system. We are raising generations of kids without college educations because of Democrats' "helping" by providing student loans.

There isn't anything wrong with our education system that couldn't be fixed by getting federal government out of the system. Unfortunately, the damage that has been done will remain long after the Democrats have left.

The only "solution" now is to kill the university system and replace it with modern, online university classrooms offering low-cost education. It may not be perfect, but at least it would provide some kind of opportunity for kids who cannot afford the government education they could have had in the past.
