The Iraq/Afghanistan wars have cost us over 5300 dead and 50K wounded. All for nothing. We could have walked away in Jan of 02 with one casualty in Afghanistan and the countries would both have been no worse.

I can't condemn what we did. I, like Bush, thought the Muslims could at least maintain a semi-Government if we cleaned out what they had. We were doing what looked like the right thing to do. We were wrong. The Left, working from a "hate America" POV, was wrong every way.

As I said earlier, Obama is going to take the hit. The "who lost the ME?" answer is obvious. Only good thing out of it.

Well, one other good thing. It will be a cold day in hell before we do this again.

I hope.

Wiki has it that we have been in 86 wars/engagements since 1776.
