I wouldn't call it a political issue. There is nothing to debate about the fact that Iraq's problems are causing oil prices to rise. That's a fact. I'd call it an economic issue.

My post was a response to slacker's post that Apple is dropping off a cliff today.

The underlying reason was not negative Apple news, and that was my point. The reason for the dropping off a cliff was macro economic news not bad Apple news.

I'm feeling a little like I'm in a mine field.

I suppose I could have framed it thus:

"The reason Apple is dropping off a cliff today is not because of negative news about Apple, its because of negative macro economic news that cannot be mentioned, but may become much worse."

Apple is going to be affected in a far different way than Exxon on this issue.
