We have a vit D pandemic up here. I only recently learned of its importance, but what saved me (total accident), was that I always ran or rode my bike at lunch time when the sun was highest, and took a multiple vit. I never "did lunch".

I always took a multiple vit not because I thought a lot of vitamins would necessarily help me, but that maybe just one of them was critical and not having it would be dangerous (that was my logic) and sure enough it turned out to be Vit D and a surprise to me.

I always knew the importance of exercise.

Anyway I seem fine, but have increased my D intake since I learned about it.

The importance of Vit D could always be guessed at as that is the theory of why dark skinned people evolved to have light skin when the migrated north. So they could get more vit D. It takes 20,000 years to evolve dark skin to light skin so I have read.

So Vit d must have been pretty important. I always tell my African American friends up here to make sure to take D supplements. Most seem to already know it. Docs must be spreading the word.
