I question the 25% figure, at least around here, as it is evident we're seeing something far more.
While the increasing pace of merger activity is a result of the ACA it is a matter of self-protection as the perception is that one/two provider practices will be squeezed out which is probably right.

So the question in my mind is, "How does the consolidation of the health care industry promote competition?" That doesn't really make any economic sense at all.
