So, in a nutshell, we established the mandatory 12 year public school year decades ago.

Now with modern information it looks like the optimum amount of education for the individual and society is more like 18 years, approximately 3 to 21.

So I believe society should address that exactly like they do K through 12. Maybe make the last four years optional, but free if people want it.

And take the position of trying to help students get through the 18 years instead of putting hurdles in their way.

Anyway that is my opinion.
