6/13/14 Contest update
Am back from London where I both gained and lost pounds at a rapid rate. As you all know, it’s been a fine four weeks for biotechs since I left the country. So if folks want to chip in to send me back across the pond I’d be happy to oblige. In any case, here are the latest Contest numbers:
At Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 4.52% YTD (vs. down -5.58% YTD four weeks ago). The Nasdaq Biotech Index had a nice rebound as well, closing up 9.19% YTD (vs. up .67% YTD four weeks ago), with the Nasdaq Composite Index closing up 3.21% YTD (vs. down -2.06% YTD four weeks ago).
Holding two of the top 4-week stock gainers, KPTI and TGTX, was enough to lift DOUGH’s portfolio, up 46.49% YTD, into the Contest lead. Also holding two top gainers, ACHN and TGTX, DEWDIL’s portfolio, up 42.05% YTD, jumped into second place. WATCHIT’s portfolio, up 39.31% YTD, stayed competitive in third place.
At Friday's close, 31 of the 46 Contest portfolios were in the black, while 20 of the 46 were beating the NBI. The median Contest portfolio stock (SPPI) is down -3.39% YTD.
Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks ranked by % Gained and % Lost for the four weeks. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
Portfolio adjustments: SSS.TO name and symbol change. Name is now Trillium Therapeutics and symbol is TR.TO.
