Assuming that I am right and there has been intelligence from the Central Intelligence Agency and contingency planning at the Pentagon, then it is possible that everything is going according to some undisclosed plan. Maybe the plan is to allow Iraq to just split with a Sunni/Syria North and a Shi'ite/Iran South after some initial conflict, with some demilitarized zone in between or some such reasonable outcome. The northern oil reserves, now considered a Global resource, is once again posing a dilemma.

Assuming that is a lot of BS, and giving the administration some credit, maybe it would be wise for Obama to take some time and meet with cabinet members before initiating a major operation. Maliki said the Sunni militants do not have the capability to go further than they have in order to capture the capital (he is counting on support from Iran), so maybe that does give Obama some breathing room.

Assuming that is a lot of BS, maybe Obama has no clue how to handle his role in this and is facing his Waterloo as Commander and Chief.

Assuming nothing... waddamess!
