Joan, I agree on the layoffs. Not so sure about the y2k companies. I think the real payoff will be with companies replacing obsolete software with new compliant software, but I havn't figured out who will benefit most. I find it hard to understand private companies throwing millions into fixing 30-40 year old Cobol programs, when they could spend a little more and get a modern, real-time system. Government agencies are another story. John PS - GM just went back below its 150 day EMA and the TA looks good. What do you think about shorting it?
