>> Obama made every attempt to work with Rs. They refused.

This is an outright lie.

No it isn't. You all are no where close to making compromises or working within a consensus.

Let me give you an example of compromise. Thirty or forty years ago......I am not sure when.........the Québécois wanted to leave the Dominion of Canada. There was a lot of turmoil over it. I think terrorists acts were committed. The French speaking Canadians were not happy. If you read the history, you will see there was much hand wringing by the English speaking Canadians. Finally, they agreed to make the country bilingual. Canadians are taught both languages growing up. All signs are in both languages. I am sure there are other stipulations.

Now to put this into a US perspective.............I think Québec is one of 9 or 10 provinces.......roughly 20% of the population. That means the native language of roughly 80% of the population is English. And yet, in order to keep the Dominion together the much larger English speaking population made a huge concession. They agreed to make the country bilingual. That is what compromise is all about. Of course, its not been all strawberries and cream, and the further you get from Québec and Ontario the less French you hear spoken. And the Québécois have paid a fairly steep price too. Montréal which was once a serious rival to Toronto is now very much the secondary city. A lot of companies moved to Toronto during the turmoil and Montréal is no longer the economic powerhouse it once was. So there is that.

But that's real compromise. Now lets imagine if the same thing were to happen in the US. Its estimated that the Latino population is roughly 17% of the US's total population. What do you think would happen if someone proposed making the US bilingual? Yes, that's right.......imagine the uproar...........esp in the right wing population. There is no way that would happen here.........at least not in the foreseeable future. Americans are far too immature.........esp the Rs in the population.

So, Dave, I don't want to hear about compromise or consensus. Rs need to do a lot of growing up before we can get to that point. Right now what you do best is repealing the ACA and playing the victim.
