There is no scientific proof for the existence of God. You can, of course, believe in anything you want, but don't get confused about the difference between science- testable, repeatable- and belief. All sorts of people organize good things- people who believe in all sorts of things, and people who believe in no invisible, unprovable being. I like "Invisible friend"- because it conveys the sort of madness I think attends a belief in things like fairies, elves and gods. Invisibility by itself doesn't make the idea of gods ridiculous- what makes the idea ridiculous is the completely illogical nature of the belief. There is not study, anywhere, proving the existence of God. There is proof that people who believe in placebos, or anything else, can do things with their minds. So perhaps that's what you have in mind.
