As for the formation of the universe, whether or not it was random, is the question, if that's what you're referring to? Among scientists, I think the split is about 20% who don't think it's random and 80% who do. For myself, I don't think it was completely random but with occurences of randomness happening and God intervening. My worldview is complex and evolving all the time. At the same time, my aging brain is finding it harder to deal with cosmological abstractions.

As for daily life, I think things happen with great randomness. I don't think God makes things happen, good or bad, or orchestrates our paths in life. And I don't necessarily look for reasons why things happen, existentially speaking. I mean if a recipe I'm using comes out wrong, I'll try to figure out why, but not life dumps on me in a big way. If things happen, they happen. I'll turn to God simply to ask for courage, strength, insight, or whatever I need emotionally to try to make things better.
