<< technically they still don't have the piece of paper >> You are right of course, but it is now a standard government procedure which I for one am quite comfortable with. One thing that Bre-X and the fallout which surrounded that mess did, was to send a message to the governments in many countries that it does not pay to mess with the terms of exploration and development offered to foreign investors simply because they turn out to be successful (or at least when they appeared to be sucessful). The loss of confidence of many overseas investors in the Indonesian government as a result of their unseemly grab for Bre-X's percieved riches has backfired on Indonesia. The lesson has not been lost and other governments world wide have seen the result and have no wish to duplicate it.

And while we are still patting ourselves on the backs, I am confident that ABER Resources (ABZ on TSE) (ABERF on NASDAQ) is ripe for a turn around and is a safe bet to double within 6 to 9 months. Do your own DD though - I bought it way too early!
