Why are you trying to change the subject?
We have a good idea what the numbers are. We have a long-established trend, at least for SS & Medicare, on which to base projections. We know, with relative precision, where this is headed. And even if the trustees were wrong by -50%, the programs would STILL be untenable.
This was my point in the previous post: You guys simply do not want to confront the facts, which are the numbers. The data we know with reasonable accuracy. And you never address it. You won't even get NEAR it. You giggle about the trustees' figures, yet you cannot counter their concerns. You blow off the CBO head's testimony, yet you cannot counter it.
Assume, for the sake of argument, that the figures I gave you are correct. Would you THEN agree that the continued expansion of these programs, the demagoguery by the Democrats, the refusal to address the problems, are all immoral acts in that they compromise the economic well being of future generations?
The answer is "No." You will never admit it because you simply DO NOT CARE. Like children, you want what you want and you want it right now. |
