Mike:

<Lucent just bought out Ipsilon>

I believe LU bought out Prominent; Gig switch maker (Base Price $20-45K; not much bang for the buck). See:http://www.prominet.com/product/product.htm

Nokia bought Ipsilon.

When I asked Noam after the meeting about the competitive aspects of these transactions he replied that LU is a big company and they might not be able to focus on everything although they have good carrier relationships. He didn't seem that concerned about the Ipsilon switch or deal.

When John asked Noam about MRV IP Switch patent application. He stated that it utilized "harbor based routing" Do you know what that is? The advantages of the patent were 1)Non-proprietary, 2) low cost to implement and 3) another point that's not in my notes (may John could help out here from his taping of the meeting. All in all, he was very enthusiastic about the incorporation of IP functionality in all MRV switches (re: QoS issues).
