Another thing is I don't see the average retail investor throwing in the towel on the merger yet. Who knows, I could be wrong, but the LU/ASND deal reminds me of the IBM/NOVL rumor that surfaces periodically. NOVL's been a great stock to play this year, as it oscillates between 7 1/2 and 10, depending on the state of that rumor.

Barb,

It's funny you say that. I said the same thing a few days back.
(Great minds must think alike 8=).

There's just something about this whole LU/ASND thing that makes
me think of the IBM/NOVL takeover that was such a "sure thing". PC
Week was so sure of it that they even had an article all but calling
it a done deal. Recall that NOVL stock had just hit rock bottom a
few weeks before that near $6. Since the rumor it's been trading
at about $8-$10. So, it was either carefully orchestrated by NOVL
or at least played like a violin by same. Clearly it succeeded in
pulling NOVL out of the gutter.

So far, with ASND the same thing appears to be happening. ASND's
trading range has moved up from $22-$25 to about $26-$31. Question
is can it maintain that range (or better) when the takeover talk
dies down. Time will tell.

Good Trading,

-John Dodson
