Yes, it would. I think just about everyone here feels that there will be little or no negative impact, and possibly even a positive impact.

I don't remember talking about the "channel", but it's just the sales channel. Wholesalers, distributors, retail outlets, etc.

Backwards compatibility means the ability to work with the previous standard. Most companies are getting confused on this by trying to be backwards compatible with the 3 1/2" dinosaur. They don't realize that there's a new standard, and that in order to be successful, they must be compatible with the NEW standard, Iomega's Zip drive. <G>
