Oh, is that right? Does that also explain why OTHER countries are ruled by strongmen, or just those particular ones?

Seems to me strongmen don't have to have religious divisions as a reason to seize power and there have been a few countries over the years that ended up being ruled by strongmen where religious division wasn't a factor. So, somehow you selected this subset as conducive to dictatorship?

I think you've jumped to conclusions here.
