It's equivalent to supporting the team or colors of a High School you attend. No one considers supporting the cross town rivals, that would be ridiculous. The difference is that political party representatives should only be interested in the things that will benefit the citizenry, those living conservative lives as well as those living liberal lives. Unfortunately these guys, and that includes some of those on the right, are only focused on what amounts to a win for the red or the blue ... principle be damned. Normal unbiased people think for themselves. Some people live a more liberal life style and some live a more conservative life style. However there are some things that are conservative and are good for everyone. Some things that are liberal are good for everyone. Extreme partisanship is good for no one.
