"I never brought the Bill of Rights into my discussion, why do you?"

I entered the discussion with a position regarding self-protection as a fundamental natural human right. You've argued self-protection is not a right. I am using the enumerated "Bill of Rights" as a prime example of how our culture has rightfully raised the status of self-protection as a natural right so high that it overrules the powers of government to take action on sane and law abiding citizens in several ways.
"Self protection, ie survival, is the most basic of human needs, it is not a
right."

I don't mind discussing the needs hierarchy as a separate topic but I would prefer you get up to speed by reading at least one article or something on the subject. The needs hierarchy seeks to explain human motivation, not rights. Survival is not a natural right or a category listed on any needs hierarchy that I know of. At best survival is a basic human urge.
