THE WAR OF 2000

Every day I read report after report on the scale of the effort going on to deal with the Y2K issue. In thinking about the intensity and breadth of the efforts and trying to find some historical precedents the only analogy I can draw is one of how the country and all the developed countries of the world focused resources in World War 2. The tragedy this time is it is a business executives war as the National Leaders in this country and most others are trying to hide the problem from the people. They will pay dearly for this mistake as I believe the public will vote out almost any person or institution that was in power on 1/1/2000 that should have taken actions.
