Hmmm...not sure your position on Obama vs Bush passes a good examination. Bush invaded Afghanistan, where nobody in its long history has ever, and I mean ever, been able to control...not even those who were so bloodthirsty and ruthless that make the meanest marine look like a boy scout. He also believed he could nation build Iraq into a modern democracy that will become a shinning beacon of hope for the rest of the middle east. Now seriously, how stupid was that?! Iraq is now a shining example for the rest of the ME, just not the way Bush meant it. Even on the financial front Bush was dumber than dumb. If you tally up the total bill that Bush ran up during his tenure, you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who got so little for so much $$.

Obama is a hypocritical charlatan...you can ascribe any evil you want to him and I will likely agree with you. But dumber he is not :P

PS As I said way back then, the best hope for Iraq was a 3-way confederation with a strongly imposed canton system. 2 of them would sell oil and the third would have pipelines and transportation to make money out of. Now that chance is pissed away. The best solution is to manage the split rather than let Iraq sink into a massive civil war...and yes, we should give Saudis a good whooping (semi-privately of course), for all the shit they stir everywhere.
