As someone that would take a stab at Ahhaha and be willing to bear the brunt of his angst, I'll throw my 2 cents worth. But I will say that Ahhaha great value to me was his ability to think through a situation or event. I don't think i saw any first posts like yours that he didnt disagree with. Although i expressed my view to him of his being a devils advocate on all occasions, he absolutely denied the label. I would never be able to non sequitur you, trivially correct, or even claim my view was more important and advanced but if its just another opinion you want fraught with emotional bias and superstition. However the thread will evolve or die.

Perhaps a combination of all superstitions is the truth.

" The market right now has been caught in this funky flux"

I just dont think so. Action may reflect your attitude or current trading, but I see normal trading. exciting if your in the right space, dull if your not. Isnt that always the case? A market of stocks.

"As usual all of the talking heads are trying to explain what’s happening"

it will always be thus. not worth listening to, you might think you learned something.

"In short the market continually goes higher with little correction and on little volume."

overall yes. complacency? buy on dips? Wonder what Ahhaha would say about the "flow"

"Now I’m far from a market technician so maybe my thoughts are far too unsophisticated but what if"

don't believe in technicals. Just tea leaves. See what you want to see.

"I pondered on a bunch of things that Ahh had been pounding into my head over the last year. Key buzzwords of his referring to current market “Market of stocks”, “Trading no longer works”, “Most stocks are cheap right now”, “Technology is changing the economic paradigm”, “We are in a New World economy”. "

perhaps, but I never found him to be long term about anything. either we didnt understand what he was really saying, or we didnt define the word correctly or some movement made his old comment (while completely right) news for patzers.

"What if this time, for the markets history will not be repeated and will have little bearing on the future?"

Ive been investing in stocks for 50 years. Its different this time is an age old saying that us old timers smile at. No its not different. your attitude may be, but stocks are stocks.

" What if some day soon the US economy as a whole has no real effect on the stock market?"

what if the moon was made of green cheese?

"What if we never get another big correction in the market again?"

depends on how long you live. But i think big market declines are brought out of unknowable news or events.
You just cant plan for them so why try?

"Due to these changes and others a company’s success is rarely dependent on one or two factors anymore."

100% disagree. in fact I might argue the opposite.

"What if the term “Market of Stocks” has taken on new meaning?"

considering Ahhaha penchant for definition you would have to define what he actually meant before we could compare.

"What if only individual stocks were to correct but not markets as a whole?"

that has always been true (or not) over anything more than a day. its just arithmetic. stocks move, then indexes are calculated. ARBs excepted.

"After all stocks correct 5%-10% all the time."

or go up, just have to figure out which way its going.......What, you never bought a stock that went up in a down market? or vice versa?

"Could this market continually move sideways with a bias to up never having a major correction again?"

No. eventually it will all go to zero.

"This could be the perfect storm"

no. nor is it a perfect paradise.

" We have tons of money sitting on the sidelines"

depends on who you are measuring, I can assure you.

"investors are waiting for this so called correction thus the low volume"

You have no idea what "investors" are thinking, waiting or anything.

"We have many many companies making money so their stocks are cheap."

Define cheap? name a few, love to hear them.

"The market continually drifts higher which forces investors to buy on dips."

I'm not forced. Are you forced? Anyone feel forced?

"It’s a continuous loop and the higher the market goes the harder it will be to break. "

since I dont see much of a loop I guess I cant see your conclusion. non sequitir?

"Everyone keeps saying history has taught us that this Bull Run has to eventually end. What if history is wrong?"

How can history be wrong? interpertations might be wrong to the eye of another beholder, but history is never wrong. don't be mistaken it WILL end. and probably with a whimper. its unknowable and therefore untimable don't waste your efforts.

"What if there was more to what Ahh was thinking?"

The more was to look beyond what you see. There would always be more as long as you had imagination.

Hopefully you have completed your mental holiday. thats all it was. Now go back to work and get something accomplished.

Feel free to bash my comments, call me a neophyte or any other name applicable. It would feel like home again.

Best of luck.
