we finally got a supermarket that's only 12 miles up the road.
'stead of twentyfive. they don't seem to understand about express
lanes though. makes me tense. but it beats the drive.

and there is no beer or wine in the store. 'tis a dry county.
the nearest liguor is a 50 mile round trip. it requires a certain
degree of dedication, i think.

the rules are somewhat bizarre and archaic. when you bring liguor
into the county it has to be in the trunk of the car. it doesn't
matter that it's unopened. they want it in the trunk and by gosh
if it's not they'll arrest you. and you can only have a certain
amount. don't remember the exacts, but it's not very much. and
you can only drink on private property. yadda yadda. one of the
sad ironies is that there's more drunk driving accidents and
arrests than there are in wet counties. they don't learn.
