There are fewer individual carriers offering fewer individual plans, so if you want to call that more competition you can.

But this isn't the correct metric; as you must be aware, carriers offer essentially identical plans at very similar prices. As a result, Texans and other Americans have essentially four plans they can choose from with minor variants in features and pricing.

One carrier adding plans in TX is not "increasing competition", when other carriers bailed on TX. Today, in Dallas county you can choose from 36 plans total offered by four carriers. It hardly matters.

I don't know of any state that has MORE competition among carriers, although there could be one.
