I believe that the greatest effect we will be seeing is from the election and the "Before Jan 1st" (actually Dec 28th due to T+3) trading. The Dow and NYSE will likely be hit the most with some of the money moving into the still-active tech sector. In previous years the techs have held on until June, next year is still anyone's call.

This economy thing is about the silliest mess I've ever seen. If they would just keep these #s private and lump them into a monthly (or even quarterly) report it would effectively remove some of the volativity we've been dealing with. As a matter of fact it is the volativity that scares many away from investing in securities - to the uneducated it appears as one big horrible game in which the brokers and the big funds are the house.
