Edward Jones basically provides full broker investment management service for individuals that probably includes annuities in a portfolio. They do service literally millions of investor accounts through their over 12,000 small offices throughout the country, and Canada. I assume it works for many people or they couldn't maintain their millions of clients. I have no idea concerning their broker training and if it includes cold calling, but expect it could be part of a sales routine. I just feel that a company of their size and magnitude must be doing something right to deserve their lofty position. I am not an EJ expert nor would I advocate using their firm for investment management, but if they were a public company (they are owned by employee partners) I possibly would be evaluating them for an equity position as I do know they are very profitable.........

Edward Jones reported record profit of $674 million on record revenue of $5.66 billion for 2013. Revenue was 14 percent higher and profit 21 percent higher than for 2012, according to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Since this is really Off Topic we should get back to making some money.
