EPA spends $1.6 million on hotel for ‘Environmental Justice’ conference By Elizabeth Harrington Published June 28, 2014 Washington Free Beacon WASHINGTON – The Environmental Protection Agency will spend more than $1 million on hotel accommodations for an “Environmental Justice” conference this fall. The agency posted its intention to contract with the Renaissance Arlington Local Capital View Hotel for its upcoming public meeting, for which it will need to book 195 rooms for 24 days. “The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA), Office of Enforcement and Compliance, Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ) intends to award a fixed-price Purchase Order … to the Renaissance Arlington Local Capital View Hotel,” the solicitation said. “The purpose of this acquisition is to cover the cost of 195 sleeping room nights from Sept. 9 [to] Oct 2, 2014, at government rate for the 50th public meeting of the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council (NEJAC), a federal advisory committee of the EPA.” Link Make no mistake, this is not about environmentalism or justice. It is about planning how to do damage to the energy industry in the name of the "little guy". There is nothing more nauseatingly hypocritical than having elite bureaucrats and their chosen bigwigs "meet" under luxury conditions, and at taxpayer expense, to talk about how ordinary citizens are being victimized. I know there are barriers to doing it, but the next conservative president, if we have one, needs to clean house at the EPA, NASA, and the IRS, along with a few other elite agencies. |
