Quote I reread your post: when the guy from 'microsoft', called you did not do anything he suggested to your computer? Because if you did nothing, he didn't have access and it's unrelated to the problem you had 2 days later. Microsoft doesn't call out of the blue.

...............................................................................................................................................
I could not uderstand a word he said... so he got nowhere near the pc and I agree, why would anyone at MS call me?

your Spybot sounds like a good idea.... maybe the problem is the AVAST telling me it is a problem... maybe I ought to get rid of AVAST ??

And System restore...... ummm maybe a good idea...maybe not, let me splain why

If system restore does what I think it does, by remembering every dotted i and crossed t from say a week ago and restores that / those conditions to the pc and then marches forward....

Now...here's my question on why maybe not so good

I keep data of several futures contracts in this pc... lots of it.... and if I go back say 1 week, the pc will look like all of that weeks data is gone..??? maybe ?? I think?? That would be a real pain to fix, I think. not sure....

Thanks

I still like spybot..... tomarows job... I'm tired....
