I basically agree, although not with the bit about Java. If Java becomes big, you need more of a PC on your desk, not less, because that's where the Java app runs. Back to the diskless workstation, Intel-based computers and the ever lower cost of PC-type hardware. The NC is just a minor advance on existing products, not the paradigm shift in the way computers are used that some (IBM and Oracle, mainly) would have us believe. The NC issue seems to get mixed up in the Java, browser and MSFT wars. To my way of thinking, the issues are quite different. Richard
