It is good he retired. I've argued these points with him before and he simply does not understand scope of the problem.

The dead giveaway in his post is his claim that we have "plenty of time" to deal with the Medicare issue. That is lunacy. No one who understands these issues would make that comment. Everyone who does know something about it recognizes that the unsustainable deficits make it impossible to deal with all these issues.

While I did not read anything that suggested he doesn't know what an unfunded liability is, from past arguments I did conclude his perspective is totally clouded by his political views.
