Are you kidding.? The corporations buy the legislators and then have them write the rules for society to meet their desires e.g. low to no taxes and as few regulations as possible..

And to get the low taxes they need to gut the social programs which they are fine with.

Where is the counter balance?

Except government. So they tell you government is your problem, when it is really their problem in a democracy.

Do you think the middle class is buying the legislators? Goldman Sachs alone has something like 1 or more lobbyists for every member of congress. Wall street has 10!

How naïve are you?

What you are saying is exactly what the plutocrats tell you is true. And you believe them. They make a business of fooling people.

Can you imagine an oil company saying: "I think you should raise our taxes, they are too low."
